4 February 2019

IDGC of Centre summed up the work on labour protection and ensuring occupational safety of personnel in 2018. The company spent 604.3 million rubles on the implementation of measures to reduce the risk of injuries of employees during this period.

The main part of these funds (563.1 million rubles) is aimed at providing personnel with overalls, personal protective equipment and devices that reduce the risk of injury in the performance of work, as well as financing sanitary and hygienic measures to prevent diseases in the workplace.

As part of monitoring compliance with safety requirements, during the year, all branches of the company conducted sudden inspections of working crews. According to their results, an increase in the quality of organization and safe conduct of work was noted, as well as a decrease in the number of gross violations during the work. In addition, within the framework of the monthly Occupational Safety Days, sanitary and hygienic conditions of household premises, fire safety of buildings and structures, provision of personnel with protective clothing, special footwear and personal protective equipment were checked.

Much attention was paid to improving the effectiveness of the system for monitoring the implementation of the necessary standards and regulations, as well as the development and application of new, even more effective ways of developing the necessary skills for safe work performance among employees. As part of this work, IDGC of Centre continued the implementation of a targeted program launched in 2017 for the implementation of the Integrated Automated Safety Management System at power grid facilities. The main objective of the program is to increase the level of production discipline of workers and the culture of production as a whole.

Last year, IDGC of Centre’s specialists also underwent the “Protective Driving Program” to develop their skills in situational thinking, protective behaviour on the road, improve concentration, recognize hazards and predict the actions of other road users. In total, 1,208 employees of the company gained safe driving skills.

Other targeted activities were also carried out, in particular, a month for preparing for the safe conduct of mass repairs, a month for preparing personnel for safe work during the heating period of 2018-2019, as well as road safety ten-day campaigns.
