IDGC of Centre and IDGC of Centre and Volga Region discussed the results of the work of the operating unit for eight months of 2017

12 September 2017

In Nizhny Novgorod, under the chairmanship of Alexander Pilyugin, First Deputy General Director - Chief Engineer of IDGC of Centre and IDGC of Centre and Volga Region, an on-site meeting of heads of grid control centres of branches of two companies was held. They summed up the preliminary results of the work of the operational-technological and situational management unit for 8 months of 2017 and discussed plans for the near future.

As it was noted during the meeting, the period from January to August in the Centre of Russia and the Volga region was characterized by an unstable meteorological situation, which required the utmost concentration and prompt reaction from the power engineers. The high alert mode, in which additional forces and means are mobilized, was introduced to IDGC of Centre and IDGC of Centre and Volga Region 227 times, special mode of operation - 60 times. In total, specialists from both companies took part in the liquidation of 24 thousand technological violations in the grids, including more than 50 major outages.

At the same time, in January-August 2017, IDGC of Centre and IDGC of Centre and Volga Region recorded a reduction in the time for eliminating technological violations. This was largely facilitated by the decision of GC "Rosseti" to introduce a unified management in IDGC of Centre and IDC Centre and Volga Region from November 2016. The scale effect together with the improvement of the quality of management ensures the attraction as soon as possible of a significant number of forces and means for the quick elimination of consequences of technological violations in 20 constituent entities of the Russian Federation. So, since the beginning of the year, under the conditions of the ongoing restoration work, the power companies have carried out a transfer of 728 specialists in 105 crews, which enabled them to restore uninterrupted power supply to consumers as soon as possible.

Professional training of personnel also plays an important role, which the companies pay much attention to. For 8 months, 9 thousand employees of IDGC of Centre and IDGC of Centre and Volga Region from the operating personnel received special training. More than 36,000 emergency drills were conducted. Also, the power engineers of IDGC of Centre and IDGC of Centre and Volga Region took part in staff exercises and international emergency training in the Republic of Belarus.

The participants of the event discussed the plans of the operating unit of the two companies for the near future. Among them there is further development of systems and optimization of existing models of operational and technological management, staffing of Distribution Zones with necessary additional operating personnel, updating of training programs for electricians. This set of measures is designed to further increase control over the operation of the power grid complex in 20 Russian regions and reduce the response time to emergency situations.
