On 21 July, the teams of IDGC of Centre and IDGC of Centre and Volga Region took part in the solemn opening of the All-Russian professional skills competitions for repair and maintenance of distribution and cable networks, which took place on the site of the training centre of IDGC of Volga - Penzaenergo.
In his opening speech at the opening ceremony, the chief judge of the competition, Deputy Chief Engineer of PJSC "Rosseti" Sergey Frolov noted that in recent years a significant part of the country’s power grid complex has been modernized. Modern equipment and advanced technologies, used today by Russian distribution companies, require new approaches to the training of personnel, which is responsible for the operation of networks. He stressed: the competition is another confirmation of the high professionalism of the production staff and its readiness for any challenges of our time.
After the solemn part the teams, according to the draw held on the eve, proceeded to the stages. Today the crew of IDGC of Centre, performing under the fourth number, will extinguish fire at a 10/0.4 kV package transformer substation. The team of IDGC of Centre and Volga Region - under number "2" at the competitions, is to measure dimensions in adjacent spans of overhead lines of a power line and measure the ground resistance of an overhead line pole.
In total, during the week the power engineers of electric grid companies from Central Russia and regions of the Volga region, among the 15 teams of Rosseti’s subsidiaries, as well as crews of the State Unitary Enterprise Krymenergo, Oil Company Rosneft, Oboronenergo, Regional Electric Networks and JSC "Grid Company" (Republic of Tatarstan), will participate in eight tests.
Please, be reminded that some of the stages are based on typical production tasks that power engineers face in the context of day-to-day activities to ensure reliable operation of grid facilities and new connection of consumers. At other stages, the teams have to demonstrate the ability to act quickly in emergency situations.
Also within the framework of the competition, together with the Ministry of Labour and Social Security of the Russian Federation, the federal stage of the All-Russian competition "Best in Profession" is held in the nomination "Best Electrician for Operation of Distribution Networks". In parallel, the Corporate Championship "Young Professionals (Worldskills Hi-Tech)" was launched under the competence "Operation of cable power lines". Starting tomorrow, Ivan Tynchik from IDGC of Centre - Belgorodenergo and Vsevolod Azhnakin from IDGC of Centre and Volga Region - Kalugaenergo will have to check their knowledge of existing normative and technical documents using the software package ASOP-Expert, perform installation of a 35 kV terminator on a 3D model and installation of a 10 kV cable connector.
Summing up results of the competitions is scheduled for 27 July. The closing and awarding ceremony will be held on Friday, 28 July.
