IDGC of Centre successfully completed a project for implementation of an energy management system

IDGC of Centre was issued a certificate confirming compliance with the ISO 50001 international standard: 2011 "Energy Management Systems". The compliance was confirmed by independent experts of Certification Association "Russian Register".

The main objectives of the energy management system of IDGC of Centre are reduction of costs, identification and elimination of unproductive losses; systematization of processes of energy supply and energy consumption at all management levels of IDGC of Centre; efficient management in the field of energy conservation activities and improvement of energy efficiency in line with global best practices.

In March 2016, independent auditors of Certification Association "Russian Register" conducted a thorough review of management and operations of the executive office of IDGC of Centre and such branches of the company as Belgorodenergo, Kurskenergo, Tambovenergo and Yarenergo. They evaluated the process management system of energy saving, compliance with energy efficiency requirements, involvement of all concerned departments in solving tasks of energy saving. As a result the certification audit showed that the system of energy management of the company meets all international standards.

"Obtaining the international certificate confirms the effectiveness of IDGC of Centre’s activities in the field of energy saving and energy efficiency, the implemented energy management system will allow to enhance the effectiveness of the work in terms of optimization of electrical energy losses reduction for utility and household spending, reduction of operating expenses and compensation of costs for electric energy losses," stressed First Deputy General Director - Chief Engineer of IDGC of Centre Alexander Pilyugin.

ISO 50001 is the international standard established by the International Organization for Standardization for management systems of consumption of energy resources, which defines the requirements for installation, implementation, maintenance and improvement of the energy management system. The key task of the international standard ISO 50001: 2011 is organization of management and production processes aimed at optimizing consumption of energy resources in the implementation of the core activities. Certification in accordance with the ISO 50001 standard requires transparency and objectivity of evaluation of efficiency of energy consumption, reduction of costs, availability of a certificate compulsory at many international markets, strengthening the image and reputation of the organization, improving the competitiveness of the organization, acquisition of a marketing tool to attract a greater number of customers and partners, as well as reducing pollution of the environment and conservation of natural resources.
