Third Ice Hockey Tournament of IDGC of Centre finished in Tver

In the capital of the Upper Volga Region the closing ceremony of the Third Hockey Tournament of IDGC of Centre took place, dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the Tver power system.

On the second day of competitions the sixth, the fifth and the fourth place of the tournament were played among the teams of "Lipetskenergo", "MOESK" and "Kurskenergo". Players of "Tverenergo", "Karelenergo" and "Yarenergo" competed for prizes.

The title of champion for the third time was confirmed by the team of "Tverenergo", winning all competitive matches. Silver winner was the team of "Karelenergo", which for the first time demonstrated their skills at the tournament of IDGC of Centre. Hockey players of "Yarenergo" took bronze medals of honour.

The best players in categories were determined from the results of the tournament. The title of the best goalkeeper was confirmed by Head of Property Management Department of the Executive Office of IDGC of Centre Dmitry Meneylyuk, who receive an award in this category for the second time. The title of the best defender was awarded Deputy Chief of Operations and Technology Service of the Grid Control Centre of "Yarenergo" Eduard Volkov. The best striker was an engineer of electricity metering service of "Karelenergo" Stepan Vostryakov. The title of top scorer went to a Tver hockey player, a driver of "Tverenergo" Sergey Medovnikov.

Deputy General Director for HR management and organizational design of IDGC of Centre Inna Gromova said warm words to the players, organizers and fans: "The hockey tournament of IDGC of Centre becomes a nice tradition of our company. This year the event has acquired a new dimension. Sports teams of the branch of PJSC "IDGC North-West" - "Karelenergo" and PJSC "MOESK" took the challenge. Each team showed a good game, achieved remarkable results, and, of course, enjoyed the tournament. The today's sports festival puts an end to our glorious tradition. Tver was the hockey capital of IDGC of Centre. We hope that next year the geography of our winter holiday will expand and even more teams will gather on the Tver ice arena."

This is the best ice hockey tournament in which we've taken part!" stressed Roman Sotnikov, the team captain of "Karelenergo", "we have long wanted to meet with the teams of IDGC of Centre on the ice in friendly matches, and when we were invited to take part in a big tournament, we gladly responded. We hope that next year we will definitely be invited again!"

The closing ceremony was accompanied by performances of figure skaters and creative teams of the city. All spectators, among whom there were invited veterans of the Tver power system, participants of the tournament and fans, have remembered the bright winter sports holiday, the excitement and emotion of these competitions in sports arenas and joyful atmosphere that prevailed in the competition.
