A resident of the city of Borisoglebsk, threatening murder to an employee of Yarenergo, who took readings of metering devices, was sentenced to correctional labour

16 February the sentence of the magistrate court of section № 1 of Borisoglebsky district in the Yaroslavl region passed for initiation of criminal proceedings on the fact of death threats to an employee of Borisoglebsky Distribution Zone of IDGC of Centre – Yarenergo division.

The investigation found that 25 November 2015 a crew of electrical engineers of IDGC of Centre – Yarenergo division performed verification of readings of electricity meters in the village of Borushka in Borisoglebsky district. In one household, while taking meter reading, staff of the branch identified the fact of non-contractual electricity consumption, which angered the owner of the house, who holding a double-barrelled hunting shotgun threatened murder to the staff of IDGC of Centre – Yarenergo division fulfilling their direct duties. Subsequently, the security unit of the branch initiated a report to the police on the fact of threats to employees of Borisoglebsky Distribution Zone of the branch. Following consideration of this application there was a criminal case initiated and sent to the court. The Court decided to find the home owner guilty under Part 1, Art. 119 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (the threat of murder) and sentenced him in the form of compulsory work for a period of 80 hours. The aggravating circumstance was that the crime was committed against a person in connection with the performance of his duties.
