IDGC of Centre took an active part in the All-Russian energy saving lesson

17 December 2015

IDGC of Centre took an active part in the organized by the Ministry of Energy of Russia and the Ministry of Education and Science of Russia on December 15 All-Russian energy-saving lesson. Power engineers conducted sessions on energy-efficient lighting and careful attitude to energy resources in all regions of its service area (11 subjects of the Central Federal District). In total, the lessons were held in more than 150 schools and were attended by about three and a half schoolchildren of senior and junior classes.

The children were told about alternative forms of energy, ways of its rational use. During the lessons the schoolchildren took an active part in the discussion of energy efficiency, talked about their own observations of the use of electricity at home.

The forms of conducting the classes were defined according to the age of the target audience. Schoolchildren of junior classes acquired new knowledge in a playful way, with riddles, games, competitions, and cartoons, and high school young people attended specially designed lectures, accompanied by demonstration of thematic presentations.

The circle of issues, raised in the classroom, also included practical advice on choosing the right energy-efficient household appliances and energy-saving lamps, the use of two-rate electricity meters. The children with pleasure participated in discussions on the topic of alternative energy sources and even offered their own ideas.

"The younger generation is future electricity consumers, it is with their learning one should, in our opinion, start the popularization of energy efficiency. Classes, thematic contests, visual aids help us "grow" a new consumer, who will take care of natural resources and respect the work of power engineers," underlines the head of the Department of energy saving and energy efficiency of IDGC of Centre Natalia Yakshina.
