The opening ceremony of the second training centre was another step in the implementation of the joint interaction plan of electric grid enterprises and educational institutions specialized in providing practice-training in the framework of the Cooperation Agreement between IDGC of Centre and National Research University "MPEI".

The training centre is designed to secure practical knowledge acquired by students of the institution. IDGC of Centre provided the training centre with test benches with fault indicators, disconnectors of 35 kV and 10 kV, a cast phase segregated insulated current lead of 10 kV, an training panel with microprocessor relay protection terminals of BEMP series, as well as other visual samples of power equipment.

The project to create the training centre was implemented by IDGC of Centre with participation of a wide range of manufacturing companies*, which donated the equipment they produce to the power engineering college in Konakovo. The training centre was constructed on the basis of the project, made a lead engineer of IDGC of Centre - Kurskenergo division Mikhail Lakhov. The head of the project was a chief specialist of the Department of perspective technological development and innovation of IDGC of Centre Sergey Novikov.
