IDGC of Centre has entered the final phase of preparations for the autumn-winter peak load operation. The company is completing the implementation of the major activities of the repair program, and in its branches there is the second phase of the internal check, anticipating obtaining a certificate of readiness for the autumn-winter operation period of 2015-2016.

The repair program for power engineers is one of the key measures of preparation for winter, IDGC of Centre has already completed the bulk of the work provided by it. The company’s specialists performed a comprehensive repair of 139 substations of 35-110 kV, representing 74% of the annual plan, repaired 3,735 transformer substations of 0.4-10 kV (93% of the annual plan), and about 13.7 thousand km of overhead and cable power lines of 0.4-110 kV (79% of the total annual program). "As a result, this will ensure the quality and reliability of electricity supply to customers in 11 subjects of the Central Federal District, and will greatly contribute to the smooth and stable operation of power grid facilities of the company in these regions during the autumn-winter peak demand," stresses First Deputy General Director - Chief Engineer of IDGC of Centre Alexander Pilyugin.

The list and the schedule of mandatory measures to prepare the company for the winter operation are determined by Order of IDGC of Centre dated 24.06.2015 # 243 "About the organization of preparation for the autumn-winter operation 2015/2016 period". In late August, according to the Order, IDGC of Centre completed the first phase of a two-stage internal check of readiness to work in the branches in the period of cold weather, which began in mid-July. As part of it commissions created in the branches selectively attended electric grid facilities in order to identify risks that hinder the successful preparation for the winter. According to the results of this work measures were developed and approved to eliminate shortcomings, which is scheduled to be performed in the second phase of checking from 1 to 20 September.

From September 21 to October 2 the branches will be checked by interdepartmental commissions, which will include representatives of territorial offices of Rostekhnadzor and regional offices of EMERCOM of Russia, regional authorities, and IDGC of Centre. In the absence of observations and deficiencies the branches will be awarded certificates of readiness for operation during the autumn-winter period. In turn, the Company’s readiness for the winter will be checked by the Commission of the Ministry of Energy of the Russian Federation. According to the schedule, the work shall be completed by 9 October. In the same period it is expected the company will be presented with its Certificate of readiness.
