IDGC of Centre add capacity and technology to one of the most important power facilities in Kostroma

IDGC of Centre - Kostromaenergo division started reconstruction of 110/35/6 kV Substation "Kostroma-1". This power facility transits power between the federal 220 kV substation "Motordetal" and "Kostroma-2" and provides electricity to Zavolzhsky district of the Kostroma region with a population of more than 22 thousand people. The reconstruction of the substation is carried out to eliminate the shortage of capacity in the district and create opportunities for grid connection of new customers.

At the substation two new 110 kV power transformer of 16 MVA each will be installed and new equipment will be mounted that meets modern requirements and allows to remotely control the power facility from the Grid Control Centre of Kostromaenergo. In particular, new microprocessor protection will be put into operation, a modern system of remote control will be installed, and high-speed communication channels via fiber-optic lines (FOCL) will be set up. All work is planned to be performed without disconnecting consumers, with decommissioning of equipment stage by stage.

In total 69 million rubles will be allocated for the reconstruction of Substation "Kostroma-1". The work is planned to be complete in the 4th quarter of 2015.
