Team of Kostroma power engineers of IDGC of Centre was recognized as the best in regional competitions to provide pre-hospital medical care and psychological support

The team of IDGC of Centre - Kostromaenergo division won first place in regional competitions to provide pre-hospital medical care and psychological support. This event was held for the first time in Kostroma, and was timed to the 70th anniversary of the Great Victory and the 25th anniversary of the Russian Emergencies Ministry.

Besides specialists of "Kostromaenergo", workers of a specialized firehouse, the Centre for Civil Protection of Kostroma, Civil Defense and Emergency of the Kostroma region, the Rescue Service, the club of volunteer firefighters, the Office of the traffic police and others participated in the competition.

The competition was held in six phases - "Types of bleeding, applying a tourniquet", "Cardiopulmonary resuscitation", "Fractures", "Burns and frostbite", "Injuries in road accidents", "First aid for drowning people. Electric shock". The team of IDGC of Centre - Kostromaenergo division demonstrated a high level of knowledge and skills in first aid in emergency situations and was recognized as the best in all six stages.

Members of the jury, comprised of representatives of the regional offices of the "Russian Union of Rescuers", "All-Russia voluntary fire society", "Russian Red Cross", the Disaster Medicine Centre and the Centre for protection of working conditions, evaluated correct actions and efficiency in the performance of each task.

"Such events are important not only for rescuers, but also for professionals, who face daily in their professional activities with the risk of emergency situations," says the head of the occupational safety and production control of IDGC of Centre - Kostromaenergo division Vladimir Karpachev. "The victory of our team is another confirmation of the planned work carried out at the branch on occupational safety and prevention of electrical injuries, and professionalism of our employees."
