Management of IDGC of Centre took part in the annual VTB Capital’s conference "RUSSIA CALLING!"

Management of IDGC of Centre took part in the VTB Capital’s sixth Annual "RUSSIA CALLING!" Investment Forum, held in Moscow on October 1-2, 2014. The Forum program included panel discussions with representatives of the Russian government, heads of major Russian and international corporations, and world-class experts. The main themes of the Forum were to attract international investors to the Russian market and seek new opportunities for economic growth in the context of increased geopolitical risks.

During the first day of the Forum there were speeches of heads of major Russian companies and heads of regions of the Russian Federation, individual and group meetings between investors and corporations were held. On the first day of the Forum IDGC of Centre’s management together with JSC "Russian Grids" held a series of individual meetings with representatives of both Russian and foreign investment funds. During the meeting the parties discussed prospects of further grid development, raised the issue of tariff regulation and the effectiveness of implementation of the investment program. IDGC of Centre’s management commented on the production and financial results for the 1st half of 2014, announced forecasts for financial operations and performance of the investment program by the end of 2014.

The key event of the second day of the Forum was a panel session on the prospects of development of the Russian economy, with the participation of the President of the Russian Federation – Vladimir Putin. The Head of State spoke about measures to protect the Russian economy from adverse external factors, commented on the current economic situation and gave a forecast for its further improvement, including through structural reforms in the economy, the development of downstream sectors and more effective state support of investment projects. Particular attention was paid to developing long-term relationships with partners in the Asia-Pacific region, including China. At the end of the Forum the panelists had a common opinion that, despite the current problems, the Russian economy has significant growth potential. For its implementation in the current macroeconomic situation, it is necessary to increase productivity and to develop domestic sources of investment.
