A crew of Belgorodenergo’s electricians - the best of IDGC of Centre

In IDGC of Centre the professional skills competition of crews for repair and maintenance of 0.4-10 kV distribution grids are over. They were held for four days at the training centre of the Belgorod branch of the company in Valuiki.

Power engineers demonstrated their professional skills in seven stages (release and first aid to the victim with electric shock, replacement of an intermediate reinforced concrete pole on a 10 kV overhead line using specialized mechanisms, extinguishing the fire at a 10/0.4 kV package transformer substation, etc. ). Judges evaluated their actions on a point system. As the Head Judge, Deputy Chief Engineer for managing electric grid facilities of IDGC of Centre Evgeny Turapin said, evaluation criteria were not only the clarity and correctness of actions of the teams, perfect knowledge of the methods and techniques of work at power facilities, but the reaction time, the effectiveness of decisions, cohesion of their participants. Particular attention was paid to safety during all operations.

The winner of the competitions was the team of IDGC of Centre - Belgorodenergo division with the highest number of points by the end of all the stages. The Belgorod power engineers were awarded a challenge cup and a certificate for the purchase of a multi-functional drilling crane KAMAZ vehicle. Now they will represent the company at the All-Russian professional skills competitions of JSC "Russian Grids", which will be held in August in Penza. Second and third places were taken by the teams of Kostromaenergo and Voronezhenergo.

The team of Belgorodenergo also won in a creative contest for the best video and non-competitive eighth stage of the competitions, where the psychophysical features and team cohesion of the crew were estimated.

With joint decision of the Grand Judge Board and the judging panel, who worked at the stages, the best in the profession were identified as well. Here, too, the hosts were distinguished. Vladimir Bogdanov was unanimously recognized the best master for repair and maintenance of electric distribution grids, Viktor Artemov as the best electrician (both from Belgorodenergo). At the same time two competitors scored the same number of points and were awarded the title of the best operator: Oleg Bochin – (Kostromaenergo) and Alexey Kosarev (Belgorodenergo).

The title "Best referee team" was given to the Master Judge Sergey Scherbakov and Judge Vladimir Chantsev, who provided objective and impartial judging at stage 6 "Replacing a defective 10 kV bushing at a 10/0.4 kV package transformer substation. Measuring resistance of ground loops at a 10/0.4 kV package transformer substation".

The judging panel also checked staffing of crew vehicles with the necessary tools and appliances, safety features and working materials and the primary means of fire extinguishing. The team of Tambovenergo (driver - Alexander Pankov) was awarded for the best crew car. In addition to the basic configuration, the judges noted the presence of accessories that can optimize and facilitate the work of an electrician.

Assessing the results of the past competitions, Deputy General Director for Technical Issues – Chief Engineer of IDGC of Centre Alexander Pilyugin underlined that all participants adequately coped with the tasks, demonstrating a high level of training and qualifications: "The competitions this year were interesting, dynamic, and even tight. Until the last minute it was not clear who would win. This shows the general high level of professional skills of operating personnel of IDGC of Centre, their willingness to successfully solve any problems."
