The restoration of electricity supply, interrupted by the bad weather, is underway in the Tver region

Rounds and inspections of power lines and elimination of faults at power facilities were performed by IDGC of Centre — Tverenergo division at night and continue in the early morning.

During the last day the work on restoration of electricity supply was performed in 23 districts of the Tver region. 11 overhead lines of 35 kV and two 110 kV lines were energized. All 110 kV substations were powered. Restoration of overhead lines of 35, 6/10 kV is underway, and package transformer substations are being checked. All socially important facilities at the cyclone-affected areas have been connected to the power supply.

Difficult weather conditions remain in the region — icing and strengthening of western and north — western winds with gusts up to 15-20 m/s.

The work is complicated by the fact that energy facilities are located in remote places. Most of the damaged power lines pass through woodlands and marshland. For operational work off-highway vehicles were involved — snow and swamp-going vehicles, and tracked vehicles. For detection and diagnostics of damage to power lines the power engineers have walking rounds.

The emergency and restoration operations involve 185 crews, 693 people, and 185 special vehicles required. Crews of the power engineers have all necessary equipment and tools. They are eliminating damage caused by falling trees on power lines, drop or damage to poles and crossarms, icing and broken wires.

To perform the restoration work in full and own warehouse stock of the necessary equipment and materials is being used, staffed by IDGC of Centre — Tverenergo division in preparation for the autumn-winter operation period.

Help to Tver power engineers is being provided by crews of the branches of IDGC of Centre, as well as other subsidiaries of JSC «RUSSIAN GRIDS» — IDGC of Centre and Volga Region, IDGC of North-West, and Moscow United Electric Grid. Resources of Valdai PMES and Setenergoservis enterprise were brought in, staff of forestry and hunting management was involved.

Most of the restoration work will be completed by 09-00 p. m. today.
