IDGC of Centre has introduced a special plan to eliminate the consequences of bad weather in the Tver region

IDGC of Centre increased the number of personnel and special vehicles for first responding and restoration operations to address power supply interruptions that occurred in several areas of the Tver region due to the passage of the cyclone through the region, accompanied by sleet, freezing rain and strong wind.

The greatest number of outages was recorded in Vyshnevolotsky, Udomelsky, and Cymrsky districts. The main causes of the outages due to temperature fluctuations from positive to negative values were wet snow build-up on wires and their icing.

IDGC of Centre — Tverenergo division continues to operate in a special mode. IDGC of Centre’s Operational Headquarters made a special power supply restoration schedule. The restoration work involves all operational staff of IDGC of Centre — Tverenergo division. First responding and repair crews of Tverenergo from the very the morning have been relocated to the affected areas. The work involves 163 first responding and repair crews of 590 people and 163 special and off-highway vehicles (trucks, snow and swamp-going vehicles). To clear the approaches to the damaged power facilities and power lines staff of forestry and hunting management was involved.

In accordance with the decision of IDGC of Centre’s Operational Headquarters, mobile crews from other branches of IDGC of Centre were sent to eliminate the effects of the weather and to perform the first responding and restoration operations in the Tver region.

By decision of the Crisis Management Centre of JSC «Russian Grids» crews of the subsidiaries of the holding company — IDGC of Centre and Volga Region, IDGC of North-West, Moscow United Electric Grid were sent to the affected by bad weather areas in Tver region. Resources of Valdai PMES, and Setenergoservis enterprise were brought in.

Work to restore power supply to consumers will be conducted around the clock until complete restoration. All socially important facilities located in the cyclone-affected areas, have been connected to the power supply. For this purpose diesel generators were used, power supply was provided with a backup connection circuit.

Tver power engineers have constant interaction with the Crisis Management Centre of the electric grid complex of JSC «Russian Grids», operational headquarters of IDGC of Centre and the General Directorate of EMERCOM of Russia in the Tver region.

For operational awareness and consumer convenience temporary information centres have been deployed where you can get the up-to-date information on the restoration status in the affected areas. Via the around the clock direct phone line of power engineers at 8-800-50-50-115 calls are forwarded to specialists of Distribution Zones.
