Power engineers of IDGC of Centre are promptly eliminating the effects of a powerful cyclone in the north-western part of the Central Federal District

In the night from 25 to 26 November powerful precipitation in the form of rain and sleet hit the north-western part of the Central region. Weather conditions were complicated by decreasing temperature and strong gusty winds. This resulted in the formation of ice sleet on wires of power lines and caused power outages in 4 regions of IDGC of Centre’s service area.

The branches of Tverenergo, Yarenergo, Smolenskenergo and Kostromaenergo introduced their high alert operation modes.

As of 12 hours 00 minutes 26 November 2013 to perform first responding and restoration operations and inspections of overhead lines 369 crews are engaged totaling 1,311 people and 371 specialized vehicles. 133 crews are on duty, totaling 268 people and 133 specialized vehicles.

Resources of contractors 29 crews of JSC «FGC UES», totaling 191 people and 85 specialized vehicles are also being used in the restoration work.

Progress of the work is being monitored by IDGC of Centre’s operational headquarters in collaboration with the regional offices of the Russian Emergencies Ministry and the regional authorities.
