IDGC of Centre’s staff stopped more than 900 cases of theft of electricity in October

IDGC of Centre summed up raids to curb illegal facts of grid connection and non-metered electricity consumption. The events were held in all regions of the company’s service area in the first decade of October. Totally for the period, specialists of security units of IDGC of Centre’s branches conducted 1,612 raids, during which 52,546 consumers were checked.

Following the results of this work 640 cases of theft of electricity through non-metered consumption and 314 cases of illegal grid connection to the company’s networks were identified. The total amount of energy consumed illegally in both categories of violations amounted to about 10 million kWh. The power engineers sent to law enforcement agencies materials for deciding to initiate 24 criminal cases and 73 cases of administrative offenses.

Raids to curb cases of illegal grid connection and non-metered electricity consumption are conducted in IDGC of Centre and other subsidiaries of JSC «Russian Grids» regularly. Their goal is to gain control over the implementation of the action plan to reduce the risks of uncontrolled load growth, detection and suppression of non-contractual electricity consumption.
