IDGC of Centre held a public meeting of the extended Management Board the company. The main theme of the event was to summarize the nine months implementation of the «Program of energy conservation and energy efficiency of IDGC of Centre for 2013 — 2018». In addition to members of the Management Board, it was attended by Deputy Minister of Energy of the Russian Federation Anton Inyutsyn, who supervises this area, as well as outside experts — representatives of the top management of well-known international consulting companies, specializing in the analysis and development of strategic solutions for the electric grid complex.
Opening the meeting, General Director of IDGC of Centre Oleg Isaev underlined that energy-saving technologies are now one of the key areas of implementation of the energy policy of Russia. IDGC of Centre is actively working in this direction by implementing at its facilities a range of activities aimed at increasing the energy efficiency of the power grid infrastructure. «Intensification of the work in the field of energy efficiency in the distribution grid complex can result in significant savings of materials and electric energy that can be redirected to other needs of the company. One of the activities that have maximum impact at the lowest cost is to compensate the reactive power. But the optimization of this work requires not only the material costs perform the technical part, but also government help in improving the regulatory framework,» concluded the head of IDGC of Centre.
Deputy Minister of Energy of the Russian Federation Anton Inyutsyn in his opening speech stressed that the task of reducing the energy intensity of the economy can only be achieved through the combined efforts of all government agencies, energy companies, major industrialists and owners of small businesses. At the same time, companies, operating in the distribution grid complex, can be the engine of this process, more actively pursuing the promotion of energy conservation among the population and the producing sector, struggling with the theft of electricity, implementing projects on intelligent lighting of cities, providing energy services, etc.
«In the context of zero growth rates in 2014 it will not be easy for power grid companies. But activities in the field of energy efficiency and conservation are an internal resource that will release the funds and the electrical power to direct them to other investment purposes,» considers Anton Inyutsyn.
Participants of the meeting heard and discussed a report on the implementation of the «Program of energy conservation and energy efficiency of IDGC of Centre for 2013 — 2018» for nine months of 2013. They also summed up the company held contest of projects on energy conservation and energy efficiency. Winners of the contest were awarded with certificates and prizes. The proposals, made in their projects, will complement the Program of energy conservation and energy efficiency of the company, which after making some related adjustments will be presented for a preliminary review by the Management Board of the company.
