IDGC of Centre has commissioned a new feeding centre — the 110 kV substation "Novoselki" in Yaroslavl

11 July 2013

Interregional Distribution Grid Company of Centre, JSC, which is a subsidiary of JSC «Russian Grids», has completed construction and put into operation the new substation 110/10/6 kV «Novoselki» located in the city of Yaroslavl. The cost of construction amounted to about 320 million rubles.

July 11 this year power equipment of the new feeding centre was started up. The grand ceremony of opening the substation «Novoselki» was attended by Deputy Governor — Chairman of the Government of the Yaroslavl region Alexander Knyazkov, Deputy Chief Engineer of IDGC of Centre Evgeny Turapin, and General Director of the Yaroslavl industrial park Alexander Belozerov.

«Without energy neither can be attraction of investment nor economic development,» underlined Chairman of the Government of the Yaroslavl region Alexander Knyazkov. «Opening the substation „Novoselki“ is, firstly, reliable power supply to residents of the industrial park. In the future there will be other companies to which the new electric power of the substation is essential. Secondly, the substation will provide high quality power to Frunze district of Yaroslavl. Reliable power supply of the urban sector is a comfortable environment for our residents, as well as the capability to connect and develop new social facilities in Yaroslavl.»

The substation «Novoselki» meets all modern requirements for quality distribution of electric energy. Transformers of a new generation provide the necessary power to consumers with minimal loss of idling. The equipment includes gas-insulated one-piece units, modern automation protection and security systems of the facility. Among the innovative solutions that are implemented by IDGC of Centre at the 110/10/6 kV substation «Novoselki» is a system of online monitoring of power transformers, which will allow for continuous monitoring of power transmission, to prevent technological violations and immediately react to deviations from the normal operation mode of the equipment.

«Equipment used at the substation „Novoselki“ allows to control it remotely, without the presence of staff. In this case, remote control and remote signaling systems will work around the clock to monitor all areas of the substation,» underlined Deputy Chief Engineer of IDGC of Centre Evgeny Turapin. «This is one of the most high-tech substations in the region.»

The new feeding centre will provide reliable electricity supply and create the necessary reserve capacity for residents of the Yaroslavl industrial park. Consumers of the substation «Novoselki» will the Centre of Data Processing of OJSC «VimpelCom», an educational centre for training of pharmacists on the site of YAGPU after K. D. Ushinsky, pharmaceutical enterprises of the companies «TEVA», «Takeda» («Nycomed»).

«The Yaroslavl industrial park is developing rapidly,» underlines General Director of the Yaroslavl industrial park Alexander Belozyorov. «In the near future it is planned to place new machinery production, food processing and pharmaceutical industries. Therefore, the construction of the new substation provides significant benefits not only for the development of the industrial park, but the entire Yaroslavl region.»
