IDGC of Centre is implementing a project to connect the Tutaevsky combined cycle gas turbine unit to its electric networks

30 April 2013

As part of the scheme of power supply to the grid of the Tutaevsky combined cycle gas turbine unit of Yaroslavl Generation Company, IDGC of Centre continues the construction of the 110/10 kV «PGU-CHP» Substation and a cable line in the city of Tutaev of the Yaroslavl region.

The new substation will connect the generating facility with high-voltage networks and the substation «Tutaev 220/110 kV» of FGC UES and will also provide electricity to enterprises of the Industrial Park on the site of the Tutaevsky engine plant. Investment will amount to 162 million rubles.

The implementation of the whole scheme of power supply will increase electricity generation by 390 million kW/h per year, or more than 5% of the regional consumption. There will also be provision of electrical capacity reserve, advancing the development of the infrastructure of the entire district and increasing the reliability of its electricity supply.

At present, power engineers have already completed installation of power transformers with a total capacity of 80 MW. The main advantage of the equipment is stable work at low temperatures. At its operation an effective system of online monitoring is used, which continuously evaluates the technical condition of transformers. This will, first of all, allow to prevent occurrence of emergency situations.

High-tech equipment will be installed at the substation that meets all modern requirements for reliable and continuous operation of a power grid facility. Outdoor switchgear of a modular design will minimize the size of the substation and reduce the time of the equipment installation. Modern remote control supervisory control and energy management systems will also be installed at the facility in the near future.

Commissioning of the facility is scheduled for the second half of 2013.
