The power system of IDGC of Centre is operating normally

26 March 2013

The strongest cyclone, which hit the Central Region of the Russian Federation over the weekend and continued until the middle of the day on March 26, has not violated the stable operation of electric equipment of IDGC of Centre. Despite the heavy snow, gusty winds up to 15 m/s and above, blizzard and ice on the power line wires, the power system was operating normally, power was supplied to consumers without interruption and in full.

Power engineers of IDGC of Centre were prepared to meet the adverse weather. Already on Friday, March 22, the emergency operations centre of responsible managers and specialists was working around the clock, who coordinated the actions. Branches of IDGC of Centre — Kurskenergo and Lipetskenergo were put on high alert: first responding and maintenance crews were put on duty around the clock, the volume of repair work was reduced, backup power supply sources were into operation from the reserve and tested.

Throughout the company 90 high mobility crews of 522 people, 111 crews of contractors, and 165 vehicles were ready.
