Power engineers of IDGC of Centre are ready to operate through bad weather

According to forecasters in a number of areas of the Central Region of Russia on 14-17 March there will be an extensive Mediterranean cyclone. It will cause heavy precipitation in the form of wet snow and strong winds of up to 15-20 m/s, blizzard, in some places — wet snow, snow drifts. The temperature rise at night to -3…-8°C, and day to 0… 5°C.

Due to adverse weather conditions in the Central Region power engineers of IDGC of Centre are taking a number of preventive measures that will allow to avoid negative effects of natural disaster.

Currently around the clock duty of operation and maintenance crews has been organized, and volume of repair work has been reduced: 90 crews of high mobility of 522 people and 165 vehicles are ready. In total the company can involve for operations 1312 crews (7846 people and 1988 vehicles and special machinery). If necessary, 111 crews of contractors can be brought in to perform restoration activities.

The operation and staffing of standby power supply sources has been checked. At the time of the bad weather special control over the work of power facilities has been set, fire safety measures have been enhanced, there is collaboration with territorial divisions of EMERCOM and executive bodies, enterprises of FGC UES, operating companies of IDGC Holding and other territorial power grid organizations.
