IDGC of Centre is ready to ensure a reliable operation of power equipment in the New Year holidays

To ensure reliable and uninterrupted operation of power grid facilities in the weekends and holidays from December 30 to January 9, IDGC of Centre introduces the enhanced operation mode. The company has organized around the clock duty of managers and decision-makers, a special supervision of substations and power lines has been set, the equipment has been switched on that was in the scheduled maintenance, thus the normal scheme of electrical networks has been restored.

1362 operational and restoration crews totalling 7180 people and 2050 special vehicles have been put on high alert. In the event of emergency situations the company is also able to quickly mobilize resources of contractors in the amount of 43 crews of 708 people and 2960 special vehicles. 854 redundant power supply sources have been prepared to operate. They are fully equipped and ready to start operating just-in-time.

For the first time in 2012, IDGC of Centre is ready to put into operation a 110 kV mobile substation, which is held in safekeeping at IDGC of Centre — Lipetskenergo division. If necessary, the substation can be delivered to any region in the service area of ​​the company.

For a more rapid response to changing weather conditions and taking preventive measures the company has ensured effective interaction between Grid Control Centres of its branches and meteorologists. In some branches power engineers monitor the weather changes with their own digital weather stations.

In the run-up to the operation through the New Year peak load all the branches of IDGC of Centre have checked alarm and communications systems, including together with fire departments, territorial security authorities, Interior, Defense and Emergencies. To provide anti-terrorist protection of power facilities the company has enhanced access control and control over the security organization.

Headquarters of responsible managers and specialists of IDGC of Centre promptly communicate with Headquarters of the electric grid complex, territorial divisions of MOE, executive bodies, enterprises of FGC UES, operating companies of IDGC Holding and other territorial power grid organizations. Operational exchange of information on the presence of an emergency reserve and restoration personnel has been set.
