IDGC of Centre to construct a new substation in Yaroslavl

13 September 2012

IDGC of Centre will construct a new substation 110/10/6 kV “Novoselki” in the city of Yaroslavl.

The substation will provide electricity to a new district of Yaroslavl industrial park “Novoselki” and the residential sector in Frunzensky district of Yaroslavl, and will create the necessary reserve of electrical power for the connection of new consumers. Besides the construction of the substation with all engineering services this investment project includes the reconstruction of the overhead line 110 kV “Yaroslavl-Nerekhta”.

The new substation will meet all modern standards of reliability and quality of electric power distribution. The main equipment of “Novoselok” — two power transformers of 110/10 40 MVA each. Compared with the previous generation of transformers this equipment has lower no-load losses and, therefore, greater efficiency. The transformers have internal insulation of solid type bushings and automatically adjust the transformation ratio on microprocessor control units. Also at the substation will be equipped with modern gas-insulated 110 kV modules. All this equipment will make operation of the power facility more reliable and increase the quality of power supplied to consumers.

Industrial Park “Novoselki” occupies an area of over 400 hectares. This project was created with the support of the Government of the Yaroslavl region in order to attract major investors to the region. There have already built several large businesses, including the “daughter” of the Japanese concern “Komatsu”, producing excavators, and a plant of Luxembourg company “Astron” manufacturing metal snap-together constructions. In the near future one of the residents of the industrial park will be a data processing center of VimpelCom, which will become one of Russia’s largest technology centers of the company. The main consumers of the future substation — an educational center for training pharmaceutical specialists for such giants of pharmaceutical industry as the company “TEVA” and “Nycomed”, which are also building their businesses in the industrial park.
