IDGC of Centre continues to implement the action "Save the energy of the forest"

16 May 2012

Power engineers of IDGC of Centre took part in the All-Russian Day of planting of trees in the Tver region. The center for the event was Savvatevskoe forest farm in Kalininsky district of the Tver region, where the large-scale action took place in the area of 5 hectares.

Deputy General Director of IDGC of Centre - Tverenergo division director Alexander Eyst together with Governor of the Tver region Andrey Shevelev and Head of Forestry Agency of Russia Viktor Maslyakov opened the event They, having planted the first seedlings of young pines.

Power engineers of IDGC of Centre - Tverenergo division, representatives of 11 forest districts in the region, experts of the Center for Forest Protection in the Tver region, schoolchildren, students, activists of youth organizations, Tver naturalists planted about 20,000 trees on this day. The event’s participants visited an exhibition of vehicles to protect forests from fire: tractors, preventing the spread of fires, fire-fighting devices. Representatives of the forest district also showed the guests of the holiday an unmanned airplane "ZALA" and a helicopter drone with which fire hazards are monitored, the adjustment of fire and an assessment of forest damage is performed.

Governor of the Tver region Andrey Shevelev stressed the importance of the passing action: "All-Russian Day of planting of forests is celebrated throughout the Tver region. About 800,000 trees will be planted in the area of 200 hectares of the region. As a result, there will be new avenues and parks, but the priority is still the forest planting. Forests are the "lungs" of our planet, so we need to actively implement investment projects aimed at restoring the forests".

Deputy General Director of IDGC of Centre - Tverenergo division director Alexander Eyst stressed: "Power engineers understand the importance and the need to restore the natural balance. Therefore Tverenergo will continue to support this trend by implementing a range of activities of the targeted program "Electric grid complex - for the environment".

Within the action of IDGC Holding "Save the energy of the forest" employees of Tverenergo also planted 30 pine tree seedlings on the territory of the regional children's tuberculosis sanatorium. The place to plant the trees is not accidental: children with lung diseases, left without parental care, are treated in the sanatorium. These children are particularly in need of protection, care and attention. The start of this good tradition by power engineers was back in 2011: while in the premises of the sanatorium the power engineers planted 60 pine seedlings. Employees of IDGC of Centre - Tverenergo division not only planted pine trees, which in future will become a wonderful recreation area for young patients, but also beautified the surrounding area.
