IDGC of Centre will supply power to a production cluster of Great Wall Motors

12 December 2011

Specialists of IDGC of Centre have started design and survey work to supply power for a construction site of a future production cluster to assemble cars of Chinese Great Wall Motors Group in Krasninsky district of the Lipetsk region.

In the first stage to supply power for the construction needs about 2 MW of additional power will be required, which will be fed from the 110/35 kV substation “Red”. Power engineers will have to construct more than 11 km of 10 kV power lines, to perform large-scale reconstruction of the 110/35 kV substations “Apple” and “Red”.

In the coming year to supply electricity to a full production cycle of the Great Wall Motors cluster, more than 20 MW of power will be required. To meet these needs IDGC of Centre plans to construct a new 110/10 kV substation. Later on it will be also feed a cluster home community for workers of the car plant with 3.5 thousand people.

The construction of the plant is to begin in early 2012. Initially SUVs Great Wall Hower H3 will be assembled at the plant, and in the future — vans and passenger cars.
