At present fire technical commissions which carry out complete fire preventive examination of territories, buildings and constructions are established in all branches of the Company. All violations revealed in the course of examinations are duly eliminated as well as lists of fire hazardous sites which are subject to special control of power engineers are made out.
When Spring comes, fire risk grows, burning of dry grass and rubbish practiced by summer visitors causes power engineers’ particular concern, nature enthusiasts behave not always carefully. Most often power transmission line supports are damaged by creeping fires. In order to prevent such cases power engineers perform clearing of PTL routes from wood and bushy coppice, dry grass and burnt rubbish, they dig sites around wood supports and transformer substations, create mineralized zones along power transmission lines, jointly with forestry-based bodies conduct explanatory work with local population and holiday-makers, go the round of PTL routes regularly.
Special attention is paid to fire security state of outdoor and indoor switchgears of substations, warehouses of transformer oil and POL, including their completeness by emergency firefighting equipment. Completeness and good condition of emergency firefighting equipment, working capability of fire preventive water pipe lines, state of access roads to water sources and fire hydrants will be checked at all power facilities of IDGC of Centre, JSC.
The Company employees check up the scheme of interaction with firefighting subdivisions and services of Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia, local administration and territorial forestry establishments, the plan-schedule of joint trainings with firefighting subdivisions of the General Department of Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia on firefighting exercise in the territories of substations is developed. The Company production personnel is given instructions on fire security measures and trained how to act in fire conditions.
