Lipetskenergo installed a smart lighting system in cities and villages of the region

25.04.2019

Economical fixtures reduce costs by four times.

IDGC of Centre - Lipetskenergo division conducts systematic work on the modernization of the lighting system in cities and villages of the Lipetsk region. Power engineers install new LED lighting fixtures. They are designed for 100 thousand hours of lighting in contrast to gas-discharge lamps, which work up to 25 thousand hours. The power consumption of them at the same time is significantly lower than that of gas-discharge lamps.

“Our lighting systems are not only economical, but also smart. We install control systems that automatically turn lights on and off depending on the level of illumination or the time of day. These are the technologies that provide cities and villages of the Lipetsk region with a modern level of comfort,” explained Sergey Koval, Director of IDGC of Centre - Lipetskenergo division.

So, for example, in Lebedyan, the power engineers modernized the lighting system in 12 streets. There are 101 LED lighting fixtures installed, a “lantern” wire was mounted, which allows to connect the lamps to the operating and energy metering control systems, and street lighting control systems were installed.

In total, over the past year, the branch “Lipetskenergo” installed 909 lighting fixtures in 18 settlements of the region, 19 kilometres of wire, and 41 control cabinets for street lighting were installed. This system is installed in Dobrinsky, Chaplyginsky, Dankovsky, Gryazinsky, Terbunsky, Eletsky, Krasninsky and Zadonsky districts of the region. In 2019, this work will continue.
