16.08.2018

IDGC of Centre - Belgorodenergo division completed the fifth season of students’ crews of the power grid complex. 15 students of Belgorod State Technological University named after V.G. Shukhov and Novooskolsky College, trained in the direction of the electric power industry, received practical skills in mastering the future profession, working at the branch’s energy facilities.

For a month and a half, the members of the students’ crew "Phase" mastered various activities related to the daily work of power engineers and helped colleagues from Belgorodsky, Novooskolsky and Krasnogvardeysky Distribution Zones to prepare the grid complex for winter loads. Together with crews for sale of additional services, they participated in the construction of 6.4 km of overhead and cable power lines in Belgorodsky district. They helped develop 1,310 meters of trenches for cable laying, to overhaul 3 transformer substations of 0.4-10 kV. With the diagnostic crew, a scheduled inspection of 43 electricity transmission lines of 0.4 kV and a comprehensive check of 15 transformer substations was carried out. In the micro-districts of individual housing construction of Near Igumenka, Streletskoye, Veselaya Lopan, Schetinovka, in the settlements of Razumnoe, Komsomolsky, Novosadovy, Severny they participated in the construction and reconstruction of 11 package transformer substations and 4 pole-mounted transformer substations.

Summarizing the results of the work semester, the head of the HR department of IDGC of Centre - Belgorodenergo division Tatyana Tatukova noted the interest and desire of the young people to better understand all aspects of the chosen profession and recommended the future engineers to start their work path with an electrician for sure: "When you know the process basics, it is easier to form tasks for your employees and to control the execution of work. This is important." Deputy Chief Engineer for Operation - Head of High Voltage Grids Mikhail Malykhin, continuing the topic, stressed that the real power engineer is a person who must have a wide range of knowledge and constantly learn. Especially now, when the industry becomes inextricably linked with automation: "At present, the task is to provide complete digitalization of the grid complex, and you will have to solve it, a new generation of power engineers, and for this you need to be a competent specialist who keeps his hand on the pulse of technology development."

The mentor of the crew, the senior master of Belgorodsky Distribution Zone Dmitry Shatokhin noted the good theoretical training of the students and recalled that the chosen profession will always be in demand: "When after the disaster you restore the interrupted grids in villages and small villages, it is nice to realize that when you leave there, you turn on the lights. It brings satisfaction from the fact that you are doing a really useful and necessary thing."

The commander of the construction crew "Phase" Dmitry Mistyuk thanked the management of the branch for the opportunity to work at power facilities on behalf of all the members: "It will be much easier to study now, because now there is an understanding of how different power equipment looks and acts. Now for us this is not an abstraction, but a reality. The employees of the Distribution Zone helped understand the technical features of the equipment. We were pleasantly surprised by their responsiveness, kindness, willingness to answer any question and share their experience. Everyone, from the electrician to the head of the Distribution Zone, treated us with understanding and saw in us future specialists and colleagues."

In addition to active work in the field, the guys were engaged in creativity. At the closing ceremony of the season of the students’ crews, Mikhail Malykhin presented awards to winners of the creative contest "My impressions of work in the construction crew". As a result, Sergey Koryakin was awarded a diploma of the 1st degree, Nadezhda Golodnykh got the second place, and Kirill Lukyanov got the bronze award. Sergey Koryakin in his competitive article confirmed the general opinion of the guys about the effectiveness of the labour practice: "For many students, summer is a time of rest, but it should be remembered that this time should not be wasted: to become a first-class specialist, the process of learning should not stop for a day. Three years of study at the university is long enough time for which you manage to gain a large supply of theoretical knowledge. Nevertheless, not to lose permanently this hard-earned and persistent knowledge, it is necessary to constantly apply it in practice, and the construction crew of Belgorodenergo has become an excellent opportunity for this!"
