When would we visit Dagestan if it were not for the exercises?

15.08.2018

A master of Prokhorovsky Distribution Zone of IDGC of Centre - Belgorodenergo division Alexander Fokin shared his impressions of the All-Russian exercises of Rosseti in Dagestan:

"When would we visit Dagestan if it were not for the exercises? We were all struck by the most beautiful combination of sea and mountain landscapes. This is a completely unusual landscape for us. At first it was difficult to get used to constant movements in the mountainous terrain, but now we have adapted and work like at home.

Currently we are engaged in installation of technical metering at transformer substations located on the outskirts of Gubden. The installation of meters at the transformer substations will make it possible to compare the amount of electricity supplied and paid by consumers and it is easier to find losses in grids with the help of the feeder by feeder balance. On average, during a day we manage to install equipment at two transformer substations. We have already completed the installation of metering at 14 substations. Before that, they did not sit on the spot either. We were engaged in inspecting lines, drawing schemes of electric grids, so that later on, line crews could work with them. In general, we were and are in action.

Our work is constantly observed by local residents. They periodically refer to us, they are interested in what we are doing. And they are very happy about what is being done for them, everyone understands perfectly: after such a large-scale reconstruction it will be possible to fully use all electrical equipment, there will be no interruptions in power supply, differences and low voltage in the grid. They are grateful to us for the help, that’s why they treat us very well, they bring water, tea, fruit, they treat us with ice cream, they say a good word. Such attention is very pleasant.

And the surrounding beauty allows to compensate for homesickness. You go in the morning to the terrace, and at 10 metres from you the warm sea rumbles: a stone’s throw. On weekends we go to the beach, and one of the colleagues takes a fishing rod and is happy to fish. And the mood here is always excellent, although it is necessary to work in unusual conditions. We see the results of our work and understand that we are not in vain here."

By the way, on 9 August, Alexander Fokin celebrated his birthday in Dagestan.
