26.04.2018

Specialists of Vyazemsky Distribution Zone of IDGC of Centre - Smolenskenergo division conducted a tour on the basis of the Distribution Zone for students of Vyazemsky Railway College, studying in the specialty "Electrician for repair and maintenance of electrical equipment". The event was organized in the framework of the All-Russian action "Week without Turnstiles", the purpose of which is to create a system of early career guidance for adolescents and young people.

"The choice of a profession is a complex and responsible step in the life of every person, and there is no better way to determine, to remove doubts, than to look at the profession "from within". Today you have the opportunity to get to know the specifics of the daily work of power engineers, ask professionals questions that interest you. I wish you to choose a profession that will bring you not only material prosperity, but also moral satisfaction," stressed a leading engineer of Vyazemsky Distribution Zone, Andrey Mavrichev, addressing the audience.

Acquaintance of the future electricians with Vyazemsky Distribution Zone began in the Museum of Energy History, where Zinaida Sergeeva, a specialist in the HR department, told them about the people who were at the source of the Vyazemsky district power system creation, the role of energy in its social and economic development. With the help of the electrification map, the students learned when the first lines and substations were constructed, what facilities are currently being modernized. The future energy specialists learned about the specifics of work in the energy sector, the prospects for the development of Smolenskenergo’s distribution grid complex, the working conditions at the enterprise and the social guarantees provided to employees.

The next point of the tour was the Grid Control Centre of Vyazma and Vyazemsky district, the "think tank of the enterprise", where all information about the state of substations and overhead power lines flows. The future energy specialists listened with interest to the story of an operator on how remote control of power facilities is carried out, how modern technologies help operators online to monitor the operation of power facilities and first responding crews, obtain data necessary for analysis and decision making.

In the technical study room the students were told about the dangers of working with electric current, showed a film about difficult situations in the work of electricians and a simulator for training first aid in case of electric shock.

Such actions as the "Week without Turnstiles" are very useful, because in order to become a professional in any industry, theoretical knowledge is not enough - one must understand how to apply it in practice. "For many, the today’s meeting is not just an acquaintance with the history of the branch, it’s already a kind of immersion in the future profession and what they saw here they will never be shown in the classroom", commented the production training master of the "Electrical fitter" group of Vyazemsky Railway College Lyudmila Dzhanumova.

Smolenskenergo pays great attention to the training of qualified personnel for the subsequent work in the enterprise. In addition to tours, the power engineers regularly hold Open Doors Day for students, various career guidance actions and events.
