27.06.2017

On the eve of the City Day, specialists of IDGC of Centre – Tverenergo division planted the Power Engineers’ Alley in Tver, which was the continuation of the implementation of the Green Distribution Zone program, which was adopted by the company in the framework of the Year of Ecology.

Spruce, pine, birch, maples and oaks - all in all more than two hundred tree saplings were delivered to Tver from Distribution Zones of Tverenergo and planted by specialists of the Main Office of the branch. The territory for the Power Engineers’ Alley was selected in coordination with the Administration of the city of Tver: the CHP-3 canal, better known as the "warm stream". This place has historical significance for the branch. Previously, the largest thermal power plant in the capital of the Upper Volga region was part of the single Tver energy system. On the territory of CHP-3 there is a training site for Kalininsky Distribution Zone, Tverenergo’s Tver production base is nearby, as well as the Tver Training and Production Centre established by IDGC of Centre and providing educational services to workers and specialists of energy.

About 30 employees of Tverenergo took part in the planting of the Power Engineers’ Alley. On the banks of the canal they planted coniferous trees, on the side of the residential building - deciduous trees in two rows. When the trees get stronger and grow, they will create a kind of green screen that will protect residents of nearby apartment buildings from dust.

The administration of the city of Tver expressed gratitude to Deputy General Director of IDGC of Centre – Tverenergo division director Vadim Yurchenko for his active social position and for the implementation of activities aimed at improving the territory of the regional centre.

The planting of the Power Engineers’ Alley took place within the framework of the program of activities "Green Distribution Zone", which was approved by IDGC of Centre in connection with the Year of Ecology announced in Russia. "Green Distribution Zone", along with traditional initiatives, including tree planting and clean-up events, suggests a set of measures for beatification and landscaping of Distribution Zone premises. In the Tver region there will be a competition held on the results of work on gardening, landscape design and improvement of Distribution Zone premises. The goal of the ecological program "Green Distribution Zone" is both to draw attention to the problems related to the environment and to implement a set of measures for landscaping and improvement of territories.
