Employees of the branch "Lipetskenergo" tell schoolchildren about the danger of electric current

26.05.2017

As part of a comprehensive program for the prevention of electrical injury, specialists of the Lipetskenergo branch conduct master classes in educational institutions located in the service area of the power grid enterprise.

Such meetings are traditionally held on the eve of the summer holidays and cover, as a rule, junior and secondary school pupils. The main idea of such lessons is to communicate basic electrical safety rules to children in the most accessible form. For the sake of clarity, the employees of the energy company traditionally demonstrate training materials: videos, thematic booklets and other manuals.

This time the power engineers taught the "electric reading and writing" to the fifth graders of the secondary school in the village of Pruzhinka. The children were clearly explained why it is impossible to play next to transformer substations and power lines, how and at what distance to properly pass over the broken wire, what are the warning signs and how they look - etc.

"Our main task is to make children learn for themselves and tell their relatives and friends that electricity can be deadly. Every year, we do our best to solve the set goals - we conduct lessons with schoolchildren, meet with teachers and parents, talk about the danger of electric current in the media," stresses Maxim Yashin, Deputy Chief Engineer - head of production safety and production control at the Lipetskenergo branch.

Before the beginning of the summer holidays, the power engineers will once again tell the schoolchildren about the rules of electrical safety in the street and at home, as well as the rules for safe behaviour during a thunderstorm.
