Kurskenergo identified the best specialists in repair and maintenance of distribution grids

At the training centre of IDGC of Centre - Kurskenergo division the final competitions of professional skills of the enterprise among staff for repair and maintenance of 0.4-10 kV distribution grids were completed. For the right to be called the best, specialists of specialized crews competed, who took the first places in qualifying competitions in their sections of Distribution Zones.

The competitions included seven stages: testing knowledge of regulatory documents on technical operation, labour protection, industrial and fire safety; release of the victim from the action of electric current, carrying out resuscitation on the dummy-simulator; replacement of a defective 10 kV insulator at a 0.4-10 kV package transformer substation and measuring the ground loop; replacement of insulated wire on a 0.4 kV overhead line (conductor) in the intersection span with a 10 kV overhead line; calculation and measurement of loop resistance "phase-zero" in the 0.4 kV network and selection of a circuit breaker for line protection; primary connection of a residential house from an operating insulated overhead line – 0.4 kV using a hydraulic lift; extinguishing of fire at a 10-0.4 kV package transformer substation. The level of training of the participants was assessed by a panel of judges, which included managers of production and technical services of Kurskenergo.

As a result, the master of the crew for servicing distribution grids of Dmitrievsky Distribution Zone Igor Chebyshev, the work performer of Pristensky Distribution Zone Andrey Kulabukhov, a member of the crew of Rylsky Distribution Zone Alexey Kotov were recognized as the best in the profession. The winners were awarded with certificates of honour and valuable gifts. Alexey Kotov also received a special prize from the trade union committee of Kurskenergo as the youngest participant in the competitions. Another prize of the trade union committee went to the oldest competitor, an electrician for operation of distribution grids of Dmitrievsky Distribution Zone, Sergey Kalabin.

"Competitions of professional skill contribute to the improvement of the quality of safe performance of work when servicing electric grids. The skills developed by employees in the course of them help them in cases of abnormal situations," stressed Vyacheslav Istomin, First Deputy Director and Chief Engineer of Kurskenergo.
