Orelenergo completes preparation for a fire hazardous period

25.04.2017

IDGC of Centre – Orelenergo division, on the eve of the fire-dangerous period, is completing the implementation of measures aimed at ensuring fire safety and increasing the level of fire protection of electric grid facilities. The state of fire protection and the timely execution of the plan of measures are controlled by specially created fire and technical commissions.

Production staff of the branch during trainings worked out various scenarios of extinguishing fires. In order to quickly eliminate possible contingencies, the branch organized interaction with the Crisis Management Centre of EMERCOM of Russia in the Orel region and the Orel Centre of Hydrometeorology and Environmental Monitoring.

Particular attention is paid to the preparation for the passage of a fire-hazardous period of switchgears, fuel depots, oil-filled power equipment, as well as auxiliary and household buildings and structures. Security zones of overhead lines are cleared in due time from logging residues remaining after clearing and expansion of ROWs. Digging around wooden poles, located in fire-hazardous areas, is performed. Substations of 35-110 kV, not having a continuous concrete fence, located in the fire-hazardous areas, are circled along the perimeter.

Orelenergo encourages agricultural enterprises and residents of the Orel region not to set fire to stubble in the fields and dry grass near houses, and also to leave unattended burning garbage. In the event of fire damage to power lines or transformer substations, entire settlements may be without electricity, and in the worst case people may suffer.

If grassland fire is found near power facilities, you should contact the Direct Line of Power Engineers via the toll-free phone number at 8-800-50-50-115, short number 13-50 or your Distribution Zone.
