10.01.2017

IDGC of Centre – Smolenskenergo division held its first competition of professional skills among drivers. Eighteen employees of the mechanization and transportation service from all Distribution Zones competed for the title "The best driver of the branch".

The purpose of the contest is evaluation and improvement of the professional level of personnel of the mechanization and transportation service, increasing the quality and safety of vehicle driving, as well as sharing of the best practices in driving passenger and freight vehicles. Nine teams participated, including: car drivers, truck drivers and their managers.

They demonstrated their skills and mastery during six stages, at each of which judging panels checked the level of professional knowledge, as well as the efficiency and accuracy of performance of tasks.

The first two stages tested theoretical knowledge of occupational safety regulations, traffic rules and the Code of Administrative Offences of the Russian Federation. The third stage involved the verification of theoretical knowledge and practical skills in the first aid (resuscitation, solving situational problems).

Practical driving skills were assessed at the fourth and fifth stages of the competition and included driving cars and trucks at the practice ground.

The final stage of the competition assessed the technical condition of the vehicle, its completeness and safety.

As a result, drivers from the Smolensk City Section Pavel Lukashov and Alexander Timashkov were recognized the most professional. Both teams from the Southern Section were prize-winners - diplomas of the second and third place went to drivers of the city of Roslavl: Alexey Krotov, Vladimir Semenkov, Sergey Shurovsky and Yury Vinokurov.

On aggregate points scored in the stages the best drivers in the individual standings were determined. A driver of category 4 from the Smolensk City Section Alexander Timashkov was recognized as the best truck driver. A driver of category 4 from Roslavlsky Distribution Zone Alexey Krotov won "The best driver of the car".

"The holding of such competitions of professional skills is an important part of the testing and training of staff for the winter. It is no coincidence we decided to hold the event in the winter when the weather conditions are difficult and the roads are often covered with ice - experts should be able to act in any, even the most difficult situations," stressed when summing up the event the competitions organizer, a leading specialist of the mechanization and transportation service of the branch Andrey Nikolaev. "During the event we found the best in the profession, could learn the level of training of our employees, which proved to be quite high."
