Staff of IDGC of Centre – Tambovenergo division continues to conduct in educational institutions of the region lessons on electrical safety. An unusual lesson took place in the sponsored boarding school for children with disabilities in the village of Krasnenkaya in Tambovsky district. It was attended by about 90 children and teenagers.
Given the fact that there are children with hearing impairment in the boarding school, the electrical safety lesson was held in a special format. Leading specialist of HR office of Tambovenergo Vyacheslav Engovatov told the children material in a standard form, and the teacher of the education institution - the teacher-therapist Natalia Volgina duplicated it using sign language. The pupils learned how to behave near grid facilities, were introduced to the basic rules of resuscitation from electric shock, signs, warning about the danger of electric shock. In addition, they had some training how to leave the step voltage area and answered questions of an entertaining quiz.
At the end of the lesson Tambovenergo’s staff handed to all participants copies of the published with the support of IDGC of Centre book-brochure of the children’s writer Vyacheslav Kolesnik "Energolandiya" that helps children to better assimilate new knowledge obtained.
Leaders and teachers of the educational institution thanked the power engineers for the interesting lesson and attention shown to their pupils. "Children with disabilities often have no idea of the electric current, even in the school curriculum. They want to touch everything with their own hands. It is therefore very important to explain to them the rules of electric safety. Many thanks to the staff of Tambovenergo for the lecture held, as well as the care shown to our pupils," noted Director of the boarding school Nadezhda Dementieva.
Electrical safety lessons are part of a larger information campaign carried out by Tambovenergo in the framework of the adopted in IDGC of Centre "Program to prevent electric injuries". The power company conducts them during the school year, enhancing the work before the holidays, when children spend most of the time without adult supervision. In total, in anticipation of the spring and summer holidays Tambovenergo’s experts will organize about 30 such sessions, more than a thousand children will take part in them.
