Specialists of IDGC of Centre - Kurskenergo division conducted a tour of the Museum of the History of Energy of the Kursk region for the first year students of the Kursk electro-mechanical technical school. The event was organized as part of the career guidance now, during which the future power engineers were given the opportunity to get acquainted with the activities of the backbone electric grid company in the region.
During the tour the freshmen learned interesting facts from the more than a century Kursk power industry, about how the modern and powerful regional energy complex was created. Head of Human Resources of Kurskenergo Lyudmila Mokrousova told the students about the working conditions and professional development, which the branch creates for young professionals, social guarantees for the employees provided for by the collective agreement. Describing the young people the career prospects, she brought the biography example of today's heads of Kurskenergo. Many of them began as engineers and electricians, but acquired during the years of diligent work a wealth of practical work experience, and were able to become competent managers.
"For our students trips to utilities are very important," considers Head of the electric power department of the Kursk electro-mechanical technical school Tatiana Gnedysheva. "In the course of these events, they are inspired to do well at school, realize that they have chosen one of the most creative professions as their life's work."
Specialists of Kurskenergo regularly conduct familiarization tours for students of educational institutions. By the end of the school year the Museum of History of Energy of the Kursk region, the Grid Control Centre, as well as energy facilities of the company in different parts of the Kursk region will be visited by more than 500 students of the Southwest State University, Agricultural Academy and Kursk Railway College, vocational schools, with which the power company has had long-term cooperation.
