30.09.2015

In the Voronezh region there were system-wide emergency response exercises on the elimination of complex technological breakdowns in power grids at low ambient temperatures. The event, organized in the framework of preparation for operation during the autumn-winter peak demand, was attended by supervisory and operational staff of the Voronezh branch of IDGC of Centre, a branch of JSC "SO UES" Voronezh Regional Transmission Control Centre, CHP-2, EMERCOM of Russia in the Voronezh region, MUE "Voronezh Gorelectroset", representatives of the Regional Department of Housing and Energy.

According to the exercise scenario conditions, on the territory of Voronezh on one day in December at the same time there were two serious technological violations: stop of the main fuel supply at CHP-2 (due to a failure on a gas pipeline) and interruption of the 110 kV overhead line Otrozhka - SKHI №№31, 32 ( broken ground wire). As a result, in Kominternovsky district of Voronezh 209 apartment houses, 15 kindergartens and 4 schools were de-energized. More than 82 thousand inhabitants were without power supply.

The exercise participants demonstrated competent and well-coordinated actions, which made it possible to eliminate the complex technological violations for just 33 minutes. So, the staff of CHP-2 provided timely transfer of the station to the reserve fuel, not allowing the termination of the supply of heat. In turn, first responding and restoration crews of the power lines service of Voronezhenergo in difficult conditions were able to quickly perform repair work on the broken ground wire on a section of the high-voltage line, located in the waters of the Voronezh Reservoir, where it was delivered by a dedicated cutter of the Boat State Inspectorate for Small Vessels. As a result of the events activities of all subjects of the power industry were highly assessed.

"The participation in the system-wide emergency response exercises is the final stage of preparation of Voronezhenergo to obtain a certificate of readiness for the autumn-winter operation period of 2015-2016. At the same time, we are aware that only the upcoming winter will give a realistic assessment of our work," concluded, summing up the exercises, Deputy General Director of IDGC of Centre - Voronezhenergo division director Ivan Kleymenov.
