IDGC of Centre - Smolenskenergo division received a document about readiness for the autumn-winter operation period of 2015-2016

September 25, 2015 IDGC of Centre - Smolenskenergo division held a meeting of the Commission on the preparation for the autumn-winter operation period (AWP) and the ceremonial presentation of the Certificates of readiness to operate in the AWP 2015-2016 - a document confirming the readiness of the Smolensk power engineers to work in the period of maximum loads.

The Commission, consisting of representatives of IDGC of Centre, the Administration of the Smolensk region, a branch of PJSC "SO UES" Smolensk Transmission Control Centre, regional offices of Rostekhnadzor and EMERCOM of Russia, assessed the work carried out during the past period. After analyzing the quality and scope of the measures, inspections and exercises, repairs, the Commission’s members recognized the readiness of Smolenskenergo to operate through the winter. Chairman of the Commission - Deputy Chief Engineer - Head of Occupational Safety and Production Control Department of IDGC of Centre Mikhail A. Zamotay handed the certificate of readiness to the branch director Sabir Agamaliev.

The Commission noted that the work of the Smolensk power engineers was performed in accordance with the plans, the branch fulfilled all to obtain the certificate of readiness for the autumn-winter operation period. The Commission’s members wished employees of the company to pass the winter without natural disasters and reliable operation of the equipment.

"The resulting document officially confirms that the Smolensk power engineers completed all the necessary work to prepare for the winter and should successfully and smoothly work in the cold period," explained the branch director Sabir Agamaliev. "Preparation for the AWP is a complex, stressful, expensive and responsible process, which begins in the spring. We always pay great attention to all planned activities of the investment and maintenance programs, the implementation of which will continue until the end of the year according to the approved plans. But the set of measures includes not only technical, but also events with the staff, including emergency drills to simulate actions in emergency response at low temperatures."

Continuity and reliability of power supply in the Smolensk region, first of all, depends on the efficiency of the electric grid equipment of Smolenskenergo. Careful preparation, performed by the branch, should contribute to the successful entry into the autumn and winter operation period, smooth operation of industrial plants, communication systems and utilities, water supply, transportation, operation of educational and health facilities and other social facilities of the Smolensk region.
