In mid-September 2015 in the framework of the open doors day of Safonovsky Distribution Zone of IDGC of Centre - Smolenskenergo division first-year students of Safonovo Industrial-Technological College for the first time had an excursion in the Distribution Zone.

Later, the visitors went into the building of the Distribution Zone, where they were told about the principles of energy conservation at the enterprise and shared secrets to save electricity in the home. The final element of the tour of the Distribution Zone for the college students was training on electrical safety and first aid, conducted by an engineer of the 1st category of the central section of the occupational safety and production office of Smolenskenergo Alexander Fomenko. He told the students about the rules of behaviour near power plants and the dangers of electric shock, reminded them of the need to exercise caution in dealing with electrical appliances. The most memorable and bright part of the electrical safety lesson was the practical training of resuscitation of a person affected by the action of electric current on the robot-simulator "Gosha".

"The excursion for the students was extensive and diverse enough," commented Chief of Safonovsky Distribution Zone Valery Borovik. "We wanted to tell and show the students as many as possible useful, in our opinion, and interesting things for them. I hope that in the course of the open doors day the young people found a lot of new things and explored the power engineering profession."
