Accepting applications has been started for the competition for the development of Russia's first symbol of energy efficiency, which will be installed in Yaroslavl.
The architectural form project "The symbol of energy efficiency" is the special nomination of IDGC of Centre - Yarenergo division in the All-Russian contest "Youth ideas and projects aimed at improving energy efficiency and conservation". The symbol of energy efficiency is a small or medium architectural form, which is planned to be installed in the tourist area of the historical centre of Yaroslavl.
"Questions of energy efficiency and conservation are relevant and concerned today not only for the world as a whole, but each individual in particular. We offered participants to find an optimum conceptual solution by creating an expressive architectural and artistic composition that will contribute to the promotion of the brand on energy efficiency and conservation in the Yaroslavl region. I am confident that the expert commission will see a lot of interesting projects," considers Acting Deputy General Director of IDGC of Centre - Yarenergo division director Alexander Kornilov.
Participation in the competition is open to students of vocational schools, students and graduates of higher educational institutions. Along with the individual participants authoring teams can also take part in the competition. Basic requirements for works: artistic solution, to the maximum extent reflecting the idea of energy conservation and energy efficiency principles, originality of concept and design, as well as laconism. At the same time it is necessary to link the composition of the Symbol to the urban setting and the architecture of the surrounding buildings. The project also should provide lighting of the monument at night and capability to install a wired or wireless charger for gadgets.
The expert jury will include architects, experts in the field of energy saving and representatives of the city, regional authorities, the Department of Energy and Tariff Regulation, the Agency for Youth Policy of the Government of the Yaroslavl region.
The best project will be brought to life in the form of architectural and artistic composition that will become a new tourist attraction and will help popularize the theme of energy efficiency and conservation in the Yaroslavl region.
The initiative of IDGC of Centre was supported by in the City Hall of Yaroslavl, the Yaroslavl Region Government, in the Ministry of Energy of Russia. Representatives of the Ministry will take part in expert evaluation of works.
"The initiative of IDGC of Centre for the architectural ideas competition, followed by the installation of Russia's first symbol of energy efficiency, is aimed at attracting public attention, small and medium-sized businesses, the media to energy-saving way of life," stressed in a letter Deputy Minister of Energy of the Russian Federation Anton Inyutsyn.
Receipt of applications will run until 19 October. Application for participation in the contest can be submitted already today.
