The working season of the students’ construction crew "Fulcrum" continues at IDGC of Centre - Bryanskenergo division. Students of the 3rd course of the Bryansk State Agricultural University (BSAU), enrolled in the training under "Power Supply and Electrical Engineering", have been working at facilities of Bryanskenergo for a month and a half.
Before the work start the young people were instructed in the safety regulations, labour protection and were fully equipped with the necessary materials, tools and protective clothing.
Members of the students’ construction crew divided into three groups. The first group was sent to Vygonichsky Distribution Zone, another group is working at Novozybkovsky Distribution Zone. As part of repair crews the members of the students’ construction crew help perform repair of a 10/0.4 kV package transformer substation, clearing ROWs of 0.4-10 kV overhead lines from trees and shrubs, and installing operators’ names on overhead line poles. The rest of the students do the work to read and replace metering devices.
"The main quality, which characterizes students of the construction crew, is genuine interest in the energy sector, what they are doing now," says Chief of Vygonichsky Distribution Zone Vladimir Shmatko. "I think this is a very valuable asset that will help them successfully graduate from the university, become certified power engineers, and in the future real professionals."
Friendly atmosphere, positive attitude and inexhaustible energy, a desire to try everything and be useful help the young people cope with all tasks.
According to Deputy General Director of IDGC of Centre - Bryanskenergo division director Roman Stefanov, the work in the construction crew provides the students with an excellent opportunity in practice to get acquainted with the modern electrical equipment, learn from qualified instructors - specialists of the branch unique experience and skills that will be useful to them in the future.
Please, be reminded that the revival of the practice of construction crews of students of power engineering specialties was renewed last year at the initiative of PJSC "Rossetti" in all regions of the service area of IDGC of Centre to promote the movement of students’ construction crews among young people, increase interest in technical studies in the electric grid complex, patriotic education of the youth and development of their creative potential.
