Lipetskenergo takes additional measures to ensure the stable operation of the energy complex

13.08.2015

In connection with the established heat in the Lipetsk region, Lipetskenergo is taking a number of additional measures of control and safety.

Priority is given to the work of power equipment, which is the most exposed to high temperatures. Condition and operation of cooling systems and loading of transformers is daily monitored. An additional check of dimensions and slack of wires of power lines is performed.

At power facilities of the branch fire safety feature were enhanced, equipment and condition of primary fire extinguishing means, operation fire water supply systems, availability of access roads to water sources and fire hydrants are checked.

As part of maintaining optimum labour conditions of staff temperature control in rooms is provided, restrictions of the work schedule and drinking discipline of the personnel engaged in the repair, maintenance and emergency repair work outdoors during the highest temperature hours are observed.

Clearing ROWs of power lines from overgrown trees and shrubs and dry grass performed by power engineers are also designed to prevent possible violations of electricity supply to consumers of electricity in the period of high summer temperatures.

"In the summer the probability of disconnection or damage of power equipment due to exposure to high ambient temperatures, as well as forest fires is very high. The situation is complicated by the fact that in this period some equipment is traditionally turned off for repairs necessary for trouble-free operation in the autumn-winter period, and this in turn leads to weakening of the power system circuit and equipment overload, which remains in operation. Therefore, we begin to prepare for work in the summer already in the spring," commented Acting First Deputy Director - Chief Engineer of Lipetskenergo Vladimir Tikhonov.
