Specialists of IDGC of Centre - Belgorodenergo division presented a new energy efficiency project for primary school children "Energy Advocates" in which they plan to hold a series of theatrical activities in educational institutions of the Belgorod region. The first lesson was held today in the Regional social and rehabilitation centre for minors.
In the stage production children acquainted with the protagonists of energy saving - Energy and its brothers Light, Television and Cold. "Energy Advocates" reminded schoolchildren of what the benefits of electricity are, "complained" that energy resources are usually consumed by man irrationally and inefficiently, and then in details talked how and why it is necessary to save energy, taught the proper use of electrical appliances and devices.
Young spectators eagerly got into an impromptu game, with interest answered questions, solved riddles and performed various tasks. To consolidate the knowledge "Energy Advocates" invited the children to draw the ways to save energy that they remembered well. One of activists of the today’s lesson, Nikita Shevchenko, shared his impressions: "I drew a big house, where all the light is turned on, and the people have gone for a walk. And I wrote that you should not do so, because all the energy is wasted. Now, I'll become an advocate of energy and will save it."
To make the children remember the learned rules, the Belgorod power engineers presented them with brochures with illustrated tips on energy saving.
It was the first session of the intended course. The next time the power engineers will tell children how to save energy at home and at school. The importance and necessity of such meetings was noted by an educator of the Regional social and rehabilitation centre for minors Galina Smychkova: "The event was very enlightening, interesting and above all accessible to children. Usually we try to tell the children on our own about the basic rules of conservation of energy, but it turns out to be not as interesting as with the power engineers. I believe that such studies should be carried out more often, because the theme of energy saving is very relevant today."
The Belgorod power engineers have been working with schoolchildren on the theme of energy conservation not for the first year. Regular meetings at the Centre for Energy Efficiency of IDGC of Centre - Belgorodenergo division, visiting classes in schools and children’s health camps of the region, entertaining quizzes and other useful activities are held to form with the younger generation respect for the natural energy resources.
