On the eve of the 70th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War staff of IDGC of Centre - Tambovenergo division held a bicycle ride "Tambov frontline". The bike ride took place on the territory of Tambov, its participants visited located in the regional centre enterprises, which produced products in 1941-1945 for the front, as well as memorials and monuments to veterans and heroes of the Great Patriotic War.
The action started in Victory Park, where there is an open-air exhibition of military equipment located, which was previously in service with the Soviet and Russian army. Then the power engineers rode through districts of the city, where there are museums of the plant "Revtrud" and Tambov car repair plant (TVRZ). There they stopped for excursions, during which learned many interesting things about the military history of the company. For example, at the plant "Revtrud" during the war were made antiaircraft machine-gun installations, lighting trucks, mortars, machine guns, body shells for the legendary "Katyusha". And TVRZ occupied one of the first places among the railway companies for the production of ammunition. The plant produced 2 million mines, there special cars to install anti-aircraft guns were manafactured, and on the eve of the new 1942 year one of the country's first armoured trains was made. In total, during the war TVRZ assembled 40 armoured trains.
The route of the bike ride also provided for a stop near the monument to the Hero of the Soviet Union Zoya Kosmodemyanskaya and "Eternal Flame", the monument to the heroism of doctors in the Great Patriotic War. The action ended on Vozdvizhenskoye Cemetery at the memorial to the soldiers who died of wounds in hospitals of Tambov. The power engineers laid a wreath and flowers at the monument and paid tribute to the defenders of the Fatherland with a minute of silence.
Chairman of the Youth Council, a leading specialist of integrated management systems of Tambovenergo Ilya Shivnov, travelled the route "Tambov frontline" with his wife Tatyana and son Andrey. "For the younger generation such events are very useful. They make it possible to fully understand the scope and significance of the feat of our people, what price our fathers, grandfathers and great grandfathers paid for to make it possible for us to live peacefully and happily," he stressed.
"Through the campaign "Tambov frontline" we would like to emphasize once again the inextricable link between generations. In our country almost every family has its own heroes. They are also among the Tambov power engineers. Employees of Tambovenergo revere the memory of victims of the Great Patriotic War, participants in those terrible events," underlined Head of Human Resources of IDGC of Centre - Tambovenergo division Olga Vyazovova.
