Smolenskenergo under the energy efficiency program in the 1st quarter of this year decreased the actual power consumption for utility needs of the branch by 8%

21.04.2015

In order to reduce losses IDGC of Centre - Smolenskenergo division developed and implements the Program of energy saving and energy efficiency for the period 2013-2018. As part of the program implementation, all of buildings (premises) underwent an energy audit and certification of energy efficiency. Measures to reduce electricity transmission losses are of organizational and technical nature.

IDGC of Centre - Smolenskenergo division annually produces regulation and control of the consumption of energy resources for utility needs broken down by Distribution Zones. This results in an annual reduction in energy consumption for utility needs of substations and consumption of fuel and energy resources for utility needs. By the end of 2014 the actual cost of fuel and energy resources for economic needs of the branch was reduced by 5% compared to the targets.

In the first quarter of 2015 the actual power consumption (at full size) on the economic needs of the branch declined by about 8% compared to the first quarter of 2014. The given saving was achieved, including due to the transfer in 2014 of heating system of production depots of Yartsevsky and Ershichsky Distribution Zones from electric boilers to gas ones. About 75-80% of the total electricity consumption for household needs of production depots of Distribution Zones is used for the very premises heating by means of electric boilers, so the branch pays special attention to the program of technical upgrading of production depots of Distribution Zones aimed at improving the energy efficiency of use of energy resources, including for heating. In addition to gasification of individual production depots of Distribution Zones, in February 2015 in Kardymovsky Distribution Zone a system was installed for automatic power control of electric heating boilers depending on the ambient temperature, the expected effect of this event: reducing energy consumption for heating by 15%. Further, if the planned economic effect is achieved, such a system is planned to be installed at other production depots of Distribution Zones.

According to the policy of innovative development, energy conservation and energy efficiency of JSC "Russian Grids", it provides for reducing electric power losses during transmission through electric grids of JSC "Russian Grids" by 2017 by 11% compared to 2012 and saving energy resources used for production and utility needs not less than 5% per year from the baseline in 2012, until reaching the 2018 average values typical for similar foreign companies.

"The potential for reducing the consumption of fuel and energy resources for economic needs of IDGC of Centre - Smolenskenergo division is determined by the energy certificate EP-095-0311065. Achieving this potential is put in the implementation of ongoing activities on construction and reconstruction of buildings, structures, as well as through targeted organizational and technical measures," explained the head of energy conservation and efficiency Dmitry Serenkov. "Basic measures to reduce consumption of energy resources for economic needs of the enterprise, provided by the energy certificate and taken in the branch, are: replacing old windows with double glass with plastic and soft selective coating, installation of canvas curtains on garage doors, replacing incandescent light bulbs with compact fluorescent lamps, technical re-equipment of boiler houses of production depots of Distribution Zones with transfer to gas boilers instead of electric boilers, reducing the heat load in the buildings, and training of staff of DGCs, responsible for energy efficiency."
