IDGC of Centre - Kurskenergo division has effective and fruitful cooperation with specialized educational institutions of the region in the field of professional training. Power engineers signed long-term agreements with nine higher and secondary educational institutions of Kursk and the Kursk region that involve training and retraining of the company’s employees, thematic round tables, meetings with the management of the branch, excursions for students within the career guidance.
Another such tour took place on the second of April. First-year students of the department "Power Supply" of Southwestern State University (SWSU) came to get acquainted with the work of the backbone grid of the Kursk region.
By tradition, the event began with a visit to the Museum of History of Energy of the Kursk region. There the freshmen learned a lot about more than a century of the electric power industry history in the region, the people who created and developed the energy complex.
SWSU students learned the activity of operational staff of Kurskenergo in the Grid Control Centre (GCC) of Kurskenergo. Chief of Operations and Technology Service Roman Dryuchin told them about problems faced by operators, providing the GCC work around the clock, modern technologies that allow on-line to track movement of mobile crews and performance of scheduled maintenance by specialists, promptly to take necessary decisions in the event of an emergency situation.
The tour ended with a meeting with Head of HR of Kurskenergo Lyudmila Mokrousova. She told the future power engineers about work conditions at the branch, opportunities for career growth and personal fulfillment, social guarantees provided by the collective agreement.
"These tours are the first step of the future power engineers in the profession," stressed Lyudmila Mokrousova. "These meetings allow students to gain an understanding of how the company operates, what experts we need to make power grid facilities operate reliably in the region.
