Orel power engineers of IDGC of Centre landscaped memorials of military glory

On the eve of the 70th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War staff of IDGC of Centre - Orelenergo division is engaged in landscaping memorials and places of military glory of the Orel region.

Znamensky Distribution Zone will hold restoration work in the village of Butyrki in the territory of the monument to Red Army soldiers who died for the liberation of Znamensky district in 1943. The power engineers will restore the fence of the monument, will lay paving slabs and saw dry trees in the area adjacent to power lines.

Also, experts of Znamensky Distribution Zone will install a fence around the plaque erected in honour of the soldiers who died from injuries in the village of Shkala, where during the Great Patriotic War military hospital # 2313 was located.

Already the staff of Orlovsky Distribution Zone for the safe conduct of cultural events in the village of Stanovoye at a monument to soldiers who died for the liberation of the Orel land in the summer of 1943 has replaced 5 poles and bare wire with self-supporting insulated.

Besides, Honorary Power Engineer, Honoured Worker of the Unified Energy System of Russia and Chairman of the Board of Veterans of Orelenergo Ivan Shevchenko prepared a book-brochure on the unparalleled heroic deeds of the hero of the Orel land Nikolay Sirotinin "Star of Nikolay Sirotinin". In July 1941, he was alone for two hours holding back the onslaught of Guderian's Panzer Division at the Belarusian city of Kricev. The young man, who destroyed 11 tanks, 7 armoured vehicles and 57 Nazis, was awarded posthumously the Order of Patriotic War of Degree I.

"Orel power engineers honour the feat of compatriots, who gave us a peaceful sky above. We care not only about the veterans, who, unfortunately, survived quite a bit, but the fallen heroes. It is our duty to pay tribute to these people," stressed Ivan Shevchenko.
