Engineer of Belgorodenergo - winner of the All-Russian industry contest "New Idea"

12.03.2015

On 11 March within the National Oil and Gas Forum rewarding of winners of the All-Russian competition for the best scientific and technical development among the youth of enterprises and organizations of the fuel and energy complex "New Idea" was held. Deputy Minister of Energy of Russia Kirill Molodtsov presented a diploma of the second degree in the category "Energy" to an engineer of IDGC of Centre - Belgorodenergo division Yaroslav Yurikov.

Yaroslav Yurikov’s work on the theme: "Integration of switchgear of a substation into the electricity grid connected to it" is devoted to one of the most pressing problems of the Russian energy sector - power supply reliability in modern conditions of economic development. Belgorodenergo’s engineer proposed a new scheme for constructing a 35/10 kV tap substation and connected to it 6-10 kV distribution grids with a 10 kV automatic transfer switch. To do this, on the example of a typical supply centre located in Valuisky district of the region, he considered two options to improve the existing power supply scheme - the "classic" and "alternative", performed their technical and economic comparison and determined the most effective.

The calculations of Belgorodenergo’s specialist along with official statistics were based on the results of his independent research. It is planned to use the developed concept in the preparation of terms of reference for a pilot project to optimize the power supply circuit of one of Belgorodenergo’s substations, and as a standard solution for the choice of power supply to consumers connected to any one-transformer tap substation.

The All-Russian contest "New Idea" is organized by utilities under the support of the Ministry of Energy of Russia to increase the interest of young professionals to the priority areas of science and technology in the field of the fuel and energy complex. The competition aims to identify and encourage the most proactive and talented youth development and support of scientific, technical and engineering thinking, promotion of research and design activities of young professionals, increasing interest in priority areas of science, technology and engineering in the field of the fuel and energy complex.
